QUEEN OF BISKITS

2 cups flour, sifted

3 tsp. double acting baking powder or 4 tsp. single acting baking powder

1/2 tsp. salt

4 tbsp. shortening

2 eggs, beaten

1/2 cup milk

2 tbsp. sugar

Sift flour, baking powder together three times. Cut in shortening, using two knives or blender until very fine. Add milk to beaten eggs, then gradually add to first mixture. Mix with fork to form soft dough. Knead lightly for a few minutes on floured board. Roll to desired thick­ness and cut with floured biscuit cutter. Bake in hot oven 450 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. Makes about 8 biscuits.
