BISCUIT #2
2 cup flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
4 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. sugar
1/2 cup shortening
2/3 cup milk
Sift dry ingredients into a bowl. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles course crumbs. Add milk and stir until dough follows fork around bowl. Knead slightly. Pat out on lightly floured board and cut. The thicker the dough, the higher the biscuit. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 450 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.
