Manapua Bun

 

4 c. flour

1 pkg. dry yeast

1 tbsp. oil

2 tbsp. sugar

1/2 tsp. salt

1-1/2 c. milk

Dissolve yeast in warm milk. Stir in flour, oil, sugar and salt and mix. Knead about 20 minutes.

Pinch off balls (1-1/2” diameter) and roll dough. Flatten dough and spoon 1 tbsp. filling into center of dough and shape dough to form a ball with filling in the center. Place dough on wax paper and place in steamer. Brush each manapua with salad oil. Set the manapua in a warm place to rise for 1 hour.

Steam for 20 minutes.
