Picadillo

 

1 cup ground beef

1/2 tsp. crushed garlic

1/2 cup chopped tomatoes

1/3 cup sliced onions

3 cups water

2 tsp. oil

1 cup diced green papaya

Patis and pepper to taste

Saute the garlic until brown. Add onions and tomatoes. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring to prevent scorching. Add the beef, season with patis and pepper. Stir and cover for around 3 minutes. Add water and vegetables. Cover and cook for 20 minutes or until beef is done. Serve hot.

Makes 6 servings of 1 cup each.
