Christmas Carolers
3-1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. soda
3/4 tsp. salt
1-1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
3 eggs beaten
2 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
Sift first 3 ingredients. Cream next 2 ingredients and add remaining ingredients. Add flour mixture and mix until moistened. Chill dough. Shape into balls and flatten on ungreased cookie sheet. Either add nuts or chocolate bits or sugar and cinnamon or colored fruit or sprinkle with nuts. Bake in 350 F. 12 to 15 minutes. Makes 8 dozen 3-inch cookies.
