Breadfruit Chowder

 

5 strips of thin bacon

1/3 cup sliced onion

3 cup diced raw green breadfruit

1/2 cup diced raw carrots

2 tsp. salt

3 cup boiling water

1-1/3 cup whole milk

Dash of black pepper

Cut bacon in small pieces and fry until light brown. Add onion and cook until light brown. Add vegetables, pepper and salt-water. Cook until vegetables are tender - do not over cook. Add milk and serve hot. Yield 5 to 6 servings.
