Black Tie Chocolate Cake

 

1 dark chocolate or fudge cake mix

4 eggs

1/2 c. oil

1 sm. pkg. instant chocolate pudding mix

1/2 c. water

1 sm. pkg. semi-sweet chocolate bits

1/2 c. rum

1 c. nuts

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare 10” bundt pan. Empty nuts and chocolate bits into small deep bowl and pour rum over them. Let soak, stirring occasionally, while you mix the cake batter. Mix all other ingredients in large bowl and beat for 4 minutes on low speed. Blend in rum and nuts in chocolate mixture on low speed. Pour into pan and bake 60 minutes.

For a butterscotch variation, use yellow cake mix, butterscotch pudding, butterscotch bits and follow same method.
