Butter Cake

 

1 c. butter

1-3/4 c. sugar

4 egg yolks

3 c. flour

1 tsp. salt

1 tsp. baking soda

1 c. milk (fresh)

4 egg whites

2 tsp. cream of tartar

Cream together butter and sugar. Add egg yolks. Sift together flour, salt and baking soda. Add alternately with milk. Beat egg whites until frothy. Add cream of tartar to beaten whites. Fold into batter. Bake in 350 degree oven for 25-30 minutes.
