Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Dobash Frosting

 

1 c. butter or margarine

3 c. flour (cake)

2 tsp. soda

4 sq. unsweetened chocolate

2 c. water

2-1/2 c. sugar

4 eggs

2 tsp. baking powder

Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add 1 egg at a time. Melt chocolate squares in hot water and let it cool. Sift dry ingredients. Add dry ingredients alternately with chocolate-water mixture, ending with dry ingredients. Bake in 350 degree oven for 50 minutes. Frost with Chocolate Dobash Frosting.

CHOCOLATE DOBASH FROSTING:

1-1/2 c. water

1 c. sugar

1/4 tsp. salt

1/4 c. butter or margarine

1/2 c. cocoa or 2 sq. chocolate

1/3 c. cornstarch

1/2 c. water

Combine first 4 ingredients and bring to a boil. Combine next 3 ingredients and add to the boiling mixture. Bring the frosting mixture to a boil again. Cook until it thickens. Cool. Frost Dobash Chocolate cake.
