Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cake

 

1-3/4 c. boiling water

1 c. quick cooking oatmeal

1 c. sugar

1/2 c. margarine

1 c. brown sugar

2 eggs

1-3/4 c. flour

1/2 tsp. salt

1 tsp. soda

1 tbsp. cocoa

1 c. chocolate chips

3/4 c. nuts

Pour boiling water over quick cooking oatmeal. Set aside for 10 minutes.

Stir in sugar, margarine, brown sugar and eggs. Add flour, salt, soda and cocoa. Stir in 1/2 c. chocolate chips. Pour batter in greased and floured 9x13” pan. Sprinkle 1/2 c. chocolate chips and nuts over top. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.
