Aunt Jean’s Short Ribs

 

5 pounds Boneless Short Ribs

6 inches Ginger

1/2 Ripe Papaya

SAUCE:

1 cup Raw Sugar

1 cup Ketchup

3/4 cup Shoyu

1/3 cup Oyster Sauce

Boil short ribs and ginger together for one hour or until tender. Add ripe papaya by spoonfuls into boiling water to soften the meat. Combine ingredients for sauce and mix well. Pour over warm short ribs. Marinate overnight or for at least 3 hours.

Broil on one side until brown, basting periodically. Turn ribs over and brown the other side.
