Malasadas

3 Ibs. flour - 12 cups

1 can milk (dilute to make 1 qt.)

2 cakes yeast

1 tsp. salt

8 or 12 eggs

1 block butter

1 to 1-1/2 cups sugar

 

Dissolve yeast with warm water (1/2 cup). Sift flour. Add well beaten eggs, sugar, salt, and yeast. Mix all together with milk as needed. Dough must be very soft. Then cover and set aside to rise. After dough has risen, with a circular motion, turn dough and set aside to rise again. Heat oil for cooking doughnut using 1 to 2 quarts of oil. Drop dough into heated oil by spoonful at a time turning until golden brown.
