APPLESAUCE CUP CAKES

2 cups flour

1/2 cup chopped nuts

1-1/2 tsp. baking powder

1 cup raisins

1 tsp. soda

1/2 cup shortening

1 tsp. salt

1/2 cup white sugar

1 tsp. cinnamon

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 tsp. nutmeg

1 egg

1/2 tsp. cloves

1-1/4 cup sieved applesauce

Sift all the dry ingredients. Blend nuts and raisins with 1 tbsp. sifted dry ingredients. Cream shortening with brown and white sugar until light and fluffy. Blend in egg; mix thoroughly. Add alternately, sifted dry ingredients and applesauce. Blend in nuts and raisins. Pour into muffin tin 2/3 full. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.
