Cornflakes Butter Cookies

Sift together:

1-1/2 cups flour (sifted-all purpose)

1/2 tsp. salt

Cream together:

1/2 cup butter with 1/3 cup sugar

Blend in:

1 egg (unbeaten) then add half of the dry ingredients and mix well

Add:

2 tbsp. orange juice

1 tsp. orange rind and blend well

Then add remaining dry ingredients and mix well.

Stir in:

1 cup. cornflakes (Crushed)

Drop:

By tsp. on the ungreased cookie sheets.

Bake at 350 degrees for 9 to 12 minutes.

While cookies are still hot, roll in powdered sugar. Makes about 3 doz.

NOTE: You may substitute lemon rind and juice for the orange. You may also add 1/2 cup nuts or substitute 1 cup of nuts for the cornflakes.
